Established in 2005, we are Natural Agriculture™ growers of Japanese vegetables and herbs.

Based in Lewes, in the county of East Sussex, England, our principal range starts in spring with mitsuba, mizuna, karashina, shungiku and wasabina. From May we have sansho, kabu, nira and daikon then summer brings shiso, egoma, red komatsuna, edamame, shishitou and nasu. In autumn kabocha, gobo, naga-negi and exotic coloured varieties of kabu and daikon are added to the summer range and we are slowly building up stocks of numerous lesser-known traditional Japanese and English vegetables and herbs. An unsurpassed range of mixed salad leaves and herbs is available to the catering trade from mid April to early December.

No pesticides, no herbicides and no artificial fertilizers are used and although our 'slow-food' methods mean a shorter growing season the result is a taste second to none. We source many authentic Japanese varieties and all produce that we supply has been picked from the plant the same day. We do not buy in from other growers or wholesalers – everything we supply is grown by us on our land. We aim to be your favourite place to buy fresh Japanese vegetables.

The first sansho, ashitaba and naga-imo were harvested in 2007 but exceptionally low summer temperatures meant that we had no edamame for sale. Yields from edamame were however excellent in 2008 and subsequent years. In 2012 we trialled wasabi from seed, in 2014 we added tsuruna to the veg box selection and budded more nashi pears, 2016 gave us a great crop of yuzu and in 2017 we are expanding our naga-negi production and building a second glasshouse.
